Our Story: Three Decades Bringing Cinema to the Depths

We are the first Spanish company specialising in underwater film production. Since the very beginning, we’ve combined technical innovation with cinematographic experience to take underwater imagery to its highest level.

Our story began in 1995, when we produced our first documentaries using an ARRI SR II inside an Arri Marine housing.
Three years later, in 1998, we made the leap into feature films and advertising, shooting 35mm projects with an ARRI BL II equipped with a black-and-white video assist and surface video feed.

In 1999, we developed our Blue-I housing to work with the ARRI III, which, together with the Cinematography Crystal Motor, allowed us to shoot high-speed footage underwater.
By 2001, we had introduced the Blue-II housing, marking the start of our work on television documentaries.

2005 was a turning point with the development of our Blue-III housing, fully designed and built by our own team, incorporating focus, iris and zoom motors, as well as custom electronics.
With the arrival of the ARRI 435, we implemented new upgrades that made it our most frequently used camera for film and commercial work, adding video-out and remote control (RCU) from the surface.
Later on, we adapted the Blue-III housing to accommodate the new generation of digital cinema cameras —ARRI Alexa and RED— offering full surface control.

In 2009, we became the official Hydroflex agents in Spain, consolidating our leadership in the underwater filming industry and strengthening ties with the world’s leading manufacturers.

In 2024, we completed the development of the Universal Cinema Housing —a modular and innovative design capable of accommodating all current digital cinema cameras, as well as certain film models, and ready for future technologies.

Today, we work with the main digital cinema systems, including ARRI (Alexa 35/Xtreme, 265, LF, Mini LF, Mini, etc.), Sony Venice I & II, RED (all models), Phantom 4K and Ember, among others.

More than three decades later, we remain driven by the same passion that inspired us from the start: bringing cinema to the depths.
